What to cook for dinner

The quickest answer: see which protein you have — chicken, fish, eggs or legumes — then add a grain and two vegetables. Below are fourteen ready combinations with cooking times; each opens a full recipe.

Fourteen dinners from what you already have

Every dish follows the healthy plate method: half vegetables, a quarter grains or potatoes, a quarter protein. The site works this out and tells you what the plate is missing.

What can I cook for dinner in 15 minutes?

Use ingredients that need no long cooking: eggs, canned tuna, cottage cheese, ready legumes. Add raw vegetables and bread or pre-cooked grains. The builder has time filters for 10 and 20 minutes.

What to cook for dinner without meat?

Lentils, chickpeas, beans, eggs, tofu and hard cheese all give complete protein. Lentils with carrot and tomato, or chickpeas with bulgur and cucumber, take 20–25 minutes.

Are grains fine for dinner?

Yes. In the healthy plate method a quarter of the plate is whole grains: buckwheat, brown rice, bulgur, quinoa. They digest more slowly than white bread and keep you full until morning.
