In short: there is no sign-up, we never ask for your details, we show no advertising and set no advertising cookies. Saved recipes and selected ingredients stay in your browser and are never sent anywhere.

Who runs this site
Smart Plate (smart-healthy-plate.com) is a personal, non-commercial project. Send any questions about data handling to the address on the Contact page.
What we do not collect
We never ask for or store your name, email, phone number, weight, height, health conditions or eating habits.
There is no account and no login. There are no newsletters. There is no advertising and there are no advertising cookies. We do not sell or share data with third parties for marketing.
What is stored in your browser
Saved recipes, selected ingredients, any custom products you add, your chosen language, meal and time limit are kept in your browser’s local storage.
None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. It stays on your device and disappears when you clear the site data in your browser settings.
Anonymous visit statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics and Google Analytics 4. Cloudflare works without cookies at all. Google Analytics only starts once you agree in the banner at the bottom of the screen; before that it runs cookieless and remembers nothing.
It reports aggregate numbers only: how many times a page was opened, from which country, on which type of device, which site the visit came from, and how fast the page loaded.
We cannot identify an individual from this data and we do not try to.
What happens when you press “Build a balanced plate”
The dish is assembled by code running in your browser. Nothing needs to be sent anywhere for that.
After that, the site may call Google Gemini to rewrite the name, description and cooking steps more nicely. Such a request contains only the composition of the dish: ingredient names, portions, the meal and the time limit.
It contains nothing about you. If the service does not answer, you get the locally built version and the site carries on as usual.
Google Fonts
The site loads the Fraunces and Outfit typefaces from Google Fonts. Because of that your browser connects to Google’s servers, and Google sees the IP address of that connection, as happens whenever a browser opens any page on the internet.
We send Google nothing else about you. If you would rather we did not, write to us: the fonts can be moved onto our own server.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any host, Cloudflare technically processes the IP address, browser type and requested URL in order to serve the response and protect the site from attacks.
We do not use those logs to follow visitors around.
Cookies
There are no advertising cookies on this site and there never will be. Google Analytics cookies are set only after you press “Allow” in the banner. Choose “Essential only” and no cookies are stored; the site works exactly the same.
You can change your mind at any time: clear the site data in your browser settings and the banner appears again.
Your rights
Because we store no data that identifies a person, there is nothing for us to hand over or delete on request.
Everything the site “remembers” about you sits in your browser, and you can wipe it at any time by clearing the site data in your browser settings.
